Hospital bag must haves!

As I prepare for baby number two, I’m trying to think back to what I wish I had brought the first time to the hospital. I want to make sure I’m prepared in advance since I’ll be having to worry about a toddler and not just me and baby this time around. I created a checklist and a couple items I’m putting into my bag below.

Here is a checklist: Hospital checklist

My top picks for Me!

Nursing gown: Hospital gowns suck! You want to be comfortable and have easy access when nursing your little one (those first few attempts are not the best but you can do it!) If you have guest you will also want to feel covered and comfortable. I suggest a cute nursing gown that I’m confident will be worn over and over through the months ahead.

Dry shampoo: Because doing your hair is the last thing on your mind, but you still don’t want to look like a total mess if/when you have visitors. I like Batiste Dry shampoo. I really feel like gets the job done.

Camera: I LOVE my Sony Alpha a5000 it’s compact but gives you the option to change out the lens and takes great pics! You don’t want to miss a single moment of your little ones arrival.

Flip Flops: NO, one wants to walk bearfoot on a hospital floor. I know it’s supposed to be sterile and super clean but it just doesn’t seem right to not have shoes.

Inflatable Nursing Pillow: I actually never thought of this until I received one this pregnancy. For your first time nursing it’s a little daunting and awkward having a little extra support is appreciated and carrying around a big nursing pillow just seems unnecessary so this solves all those problems.
