International Children’s Book Day is April 2. We all know it’s important to read to our little ones, but did you know that The American Academy of Pediatrics suggest starting to read as early as day one? Reading doesn’t just soothe your little and help familiarize them with your voice but these connections help build language and literacy. You can make reading fun by letting your little one pick out their own story and make animated voices to go along with the story lines. Don’t forget to check out your local library and Barnes & Noble for free story times to get them excited about reading and social all at the same time!
Here’s a fun way to bring story time to you and your neighborhood CUBs!
Host a Book Exchange Social this week!
- Each CUB needs to bring 3 books that are gently used and loved
- Host to provide snacks -Be ready to read with your cubs and enjoy a new book
- You will come home with exchanged books to add to your child’s collection
Why this social is CUB-tested and mother approved:
This social is a fun way to update your child’s book collection while enjoying story time. Reading is to the mind what exercise is the body. By challenging your child to read new books, they are learning to expand their speech and communication skills.
